This manufacturing client operates three US manufacturing sites. Its northern Ohio
plant is the largest site and headquarters. The firm continues to gain market share and
is aggressively pursuing new products and markets. Productivity gains at this location
are largely the byproduct of an active lean manufacturing program and a leadership
team that embraces lean manufacturing methodology. The role of Production
Supervisor leads the largest production department in the site and reports to the
Operations Manager. The Production Supervisor owns production and is responsible
for metrics of productivity, productivity improvement, quality, and safety. Successful
performance in this role can lead to advancement to Operations Manager.
Our client requires at least five years of production leadership, including prior
experience as a line supervisor. A Bachelors degree is required, however, the client
will consider strong candidates without a 4-year degree with a clear track-record
driving productivity improvement. Effective people leadership skills are valued more
than specific process familiarity but experience with metal fabrication is preferred.
Corporate leadership is committed to lean manufacturing concepts, therefore,
individuals must come from an active lean manufacturing environment. Prior
experience with lean tools such as value stream mapping, standardized work, or 5S is
required.
