DESCRIPTION: This position will be responsible for planning and managing the day to day allocation of resources (equipment, people, materials and systems) in order to efficiently, safely and cost effectively achieve performance targets of the plant.
KEYWORDS: high volume manufacturing, process knowledge, leadership, planning, 5S, Continuous Improvement, GMP’s, Safety, KPI’s and CIP.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coach, mentor and develop team members to meet current and future business requirements.
- Review daily attainment of targets and report variances during team and management meetings.
- Review daily maintenance effectiveness with production and maintenance team members to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement action plans to address root causes of failures and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead shift handoff meetings and communicate key information to peers, team members and Production Management.
- Safety and GMP program management.
- Employee coaching and counseling and performance review
- Understand internal and external regulations, procedures & policies and apply them fairly and consistently.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 3 years of successful supervisory experience in a high-speed food or beverage manufacturing setting.
- 4 year degree in a business or technical discipline from an accredited institution
- Understanding of processes and mechanics of production line equipment.
- Excellent problem solving ability
- Familiarity with quality and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to manage, mentor and develop employees.
- Competency in the use of computer based programs and processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
