Our client is looking for a Sr prodcution support Enginner who can effectively manage the high volume prodcution calender in Financial environment.
We are eessentially looking for someone who has prior expereicne managing a Production /Softwrae release calendar in a high volume environment, soemone with excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate activities with Business users and Technical teams.
Duties :
Managing the production calendar – ensure that the production calendar accurately reflects user operations, system support operations, migrations to new releases, and any other events which could impact throughput. Communicating these events to all stake-holders.
• Monitoring user jobs, intervening as necessary to ensure they reach completion. Recording any intervention(s) using the appropriate logging and monitoring tools. Communication of any intervention to the affected parties.
• Documenting and reporting systems and/or applications issues to users and development staff in a timely manner, including all relevant information and an assessment of the priority level of an issue; documenting any system changes in the system log. Ensuring that the loop is appropriately closed on all systems issues.
• Responding promptly to business user requests
• Performing weekend and evening support as needed
• Analyzing production hardware issues and reporting its performance
• Overseeing archival of data and managing data backup policies
• Management of authorized users - ensure that the set of authorized users for any applications being managed is audited regularly
• Playing the role of point of contact for infrastructure changes/upgrades, attending meetings and communicating issues.
• Playing the role of expert user who is highly familiar with the application, it's usage and architecture. Ability to bridge available to support new users as they join the group
Specialized Knowledge & Skills
• High level of expertise in the implementation, support and troubleshooting of production environments preferably in Financial Systems.
• Working knowledge in Unix and Windows Operating environment
• Basic understanding of relational database concepts with experience using Netezza and/or Oracle.
• Experience with system and application linkages to enterprise monitoring environments such as HP Openview or Oracle Enterprise Monitoring
• Experience with process documentation and process documentation tools (such as Visio)

• Must be available to provide reliable 24 x 7 support
• Must be a highly organized and disciplined individual who fully understands the rigors of a 24 x 7 mission critical production environment and works well with multiple technical disciplines.
• Must be a highly motivated, responsive individual that can work independently and demonstrate excellent communications and customer service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills – comfortable presenting to a multi-disciplined technology group and must be able to communicate well with all IT disciplines as well as internal and external business users
• Demonstrated ability to have lead responsibility for a production system. Root cause approach to problem solving
