Job Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
• The Professional Relations Associate, identifies develops, and maintains partnering relationships with current and future speaker thought leaders (National, Regional, Local).
• Works with speaker-thought leaders on clinical education initiatives that support Covidien’s Therapeutic areas and vision.
• Assists in implementing medical affairs speaker programs.
• Uses tools in support corporate objectives around product launches, research initiatives, etc.
• Works with Public, Private and State Government Affairs Account Managers as needed.
• Foster scientific and clinical information exchange between medical communities
• Provide scientific and clinical support for formulary and clinical guidelines decision makers
• Supports field sales and corporate account managers’ requests speaker bureau initiatives
• May assist in the clinical training of internal customers as needed
• Collect and report competitive intelligence
• May be asked to manage relationships with key Professional Societies (e.g. AMA, ARS, ASHP).


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Requires significant travel, may be field based

Requirements:

Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a Science or Health related field required; Advanced Degree preferred

Experience:
• 3 or more years clinical or Pharma related industry experience

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Pharmaceutical and Imaging Solutions Environment including payer coverage processes
• Thorough understanding of Pharma Compliance Principles in the industry; this is specific to Medical Affairs supporting Speakers Bureaus, Marketing objectives
• A demonstrated ability to carry out strategic directives in the current Pharma regulatory environment
• Executing and managing programs and such as workshops, advisory boards/focus groups as well as other programs and tools for Speaker Bureau Programs

Skills/Competencies:
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including presentation and listening skills a must
• Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills, and demonstrated ability to successfully influence multiple stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams across business divisions
• High initiative and ability to work both independently and as part of a team to plan/organize/prioritize work to accomplish multiple diverse project in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is a must
• Strong project management skills, attention to detail and ability to produce high quality, accurate deliverables
