Job Role:
The Professional Service Operations (PS Ops) function within Avid's World-wide Professional Services organization is responsible for defining and implementing processes, systems and operating procedures to ensure leverage of the global resources and consistency in measuring and managing the business. The function involves the responsibility of ensuring that business operations are efficient and effective.
A key part of the PS Ops function will be to provide robust systems and tools for the worldwide organization. Three primary tools will be used:
- PSA - Currently QuickArrow is used across the organization, however the PS organization is only utilizing base functionality. More comprehensive requirements and capability will be desired to take advantage of increasingly integrated data needs. We will need to identify the scope of capabilities desired, define global requirements, document the processes and information flow, and work with IS and the vendors on the implementation.
- Salesforce.com - This CRM tool is currently being defined and implemented for Avids Customer Success (customer service) organization and the field sales force. Information and business requirements for the Professional Services group need to be documented and articulated to the implementation team.
- SAP - Avid uses SAP as its enterprise order management and financial application. Knowledge of these functions, the critical data and how to look up relevant transactions will be important.
As the organization evolves, other tools will come into play. Examples include Microsoft Sharepoint technology (document repository), Microsoft Access (various management functions), Diver (data warehouse for financial and transactional information), etc.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Senior Director of PS Operations and entire PS management team to drive the initiatives related to systems and tools supporting the global PS organization.
- Drive day-to-day activities of these system initiatives.
- Understand the process and business practices (including regional variations) of Avids global PS organization.
- Evaluate existing processes and work flows of the operations to determine the most effective and efficient model. Identify, design and implement enhancements where needed.
- Document the processes, information needs and business requirements for the PS organization.
- Help in performing system administrator activities for systems that require business involvement (e.g. QuickArrow).
- Liaise with other departments (IS, Order Management, Sales, etc).
Qualifications:
A Qualified Candidate will have:
Working knowledge of how information systems support business functions.
Knowledge or familiarity of one or more of the primary tools listed above.
Expertise with MS Office products, especially Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
Detailed oriented and experience with analytical positions.
Quick learner and self-starter.
Good communication, written and interpersonal skills.
