Program Manager - GM

Job Purpose:

Completes engineering projects by developing and evaluating project plans and progress.

Duties:

* Establishes project objectives by analyzing project proposal; collaborating with management.

* Establishes project plan by determining time frame, funding, and staffing; approving project schedule.

* Organizes project staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training staff members; assigning responsibilities; approving contractors.

* Establishes and achieves financial objectives by preparing a project budget; scheduling and approving expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

* Approves project specifications by analyzing product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; authorizing technical studies.

* Confirms product performance by establishing standards; testing requirements.

* Provide Program Management support for a Department of Energy project by approving design, specifications, plan and schedule changes forecasting, and risk assessments.

* Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

* Maintains project staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

* Maintains safe and clean working environment by establishing and enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.

* Maintains project data base by developing information requirements; designing an information system.

* Develop new business opportunities, pursue and obtain funding opportunities.

* Manage Employees and subcontractors for effective use of resources.

Skills/Qualifications:

Must have excellent general manager skills, great project management skills, and experience in successfully growing a technology driven business. Must have an entrepreneurial spirit, and experience working in small and large companies. Qualified candidates will have an engineering degree, and will have a MBA. Candidates will also have experience in motor controls, hydraulic controls, hybrid technology, and/or experience in embedded software for controls. at least 5 years experience is a must.
