Program Manager II

To add to our team of talented people, we are currently seeking a Bilingual Program Manager II located within our Gilbert, AZ Broadcast Center

 

 

Job Summary

This position will support projects in Mexico and it is critical to the job to have written and spoken proficiency in both English and Spanish. Travel to Mexico will be required and the candidate must possess a valid passport. A basic understanding of the Mexican business culture is essential in order to be successful in this position.

 

The Program Manager oversees programs to ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with established specifications, schedules, and budgets; coordinates interdepartmental functions in order to minimize delays; meets with program team members on a regular basis to review program status and plan future actions. The ideal candidate will be flexible, organized, proactive, multi-tasking and comfortable working independently.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Project Management Skills:

 

  • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Developing, driving and maintaining a detailed master project schedule with team input
  • Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope
  • Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client
  • Effectively applies EchoStar methodology and enforces project standards
  • Minimizes EchoStar exposure and risk on project.
  • Manages project budget
  • Driving problems to resolution quickly
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately in Project Insight
  • Engages in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and controlling
  • Work independently to achieve high performance and to produce the desired results
  • Multi-task and coordinate a range of activities
  • Be accountable for all work responsibilities and outcomes, and for input to team(s)
  • Managing meetings, conferences, webinars and telephone calls
  • Completing administrative tasks, as needed 

Communication Skills:

  • Have written and spoken proficiency in both English and Spanish
  • Facilitates team and client meetings effectively
  • Holds regular status meetings with project team
  • Keeps project team well informed of changes within the organization and general corporate news
  • Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors
  • Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations
  • Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
  • Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

May direct lower level program managers.

Requirements and Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university plus at least two years of experience; or at least five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Have written and spoken proficiency in both English and Spanish. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers 
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, business partners, and/or board of directors
  • Have a basic understanding of general accounting practices and budget management including monitoring expenditures
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
