Program Manager

Active Outdoors Hunt/Fish Group (“AO”) uses the “Program Manager” title for individuals whose primary responsibility is to oversee the operation of a project that is substantially implemented and in production with most if not all major transactional and revenue generating components.

The Program Manager is the “CEO” of the operating project. AO predominantly does not assign “permanent” team members to a project operating team under the control and direction of the Project Manager. Rather, AO provides an operating support environment in which members of necessary and appropriate internal work groups are assigned responsibility for the contributory work of their groups toward the operation of the project. Team members report to the Program Manager with respect to the conduct of their work pertaining to that project and to their Director or other supervisor with respect to their group’s work in general.

A related discipline within AO within the project management model of skill sets and experience is Project Management. A Project Manager is the “CEO” of a project in its implementation stage. AO may use resources with the skill sets and experience necessary to implement new projects strictly as Project Managers, i.e. complete an implementation and be assigned to a subsequent implementation of a different projects), or may elect to allow a Project Manager who has implemented a project to remain as the Program Manager for that project in operation, depending upon the circumstances of the project, the skills and personality fit of the individual to Program Management, and AO’s exigent needs at that time.
