Program Manager - Lasers

 Locations are NY and PA for this Program Manager position.

Program Manager – Lasersl

Position Requirements:

• Minimum BS in Optics, Physics, Chemistry or related Engineering Field
• Minimum 5 years experience in operations and/or technical sales and/or applications engineering role
• Minimum 5 years experience in program management
• Experience in Laser Physics and/or Laser Architecture

Essential Duties:

Customers

• Communicate on a technical level to customer scientists and engineers
• Work to understand the technical requirements of customers and the market and communicate clearly to the organization
• Identify and Fill capability and/or capacity gaps in the value stream
• Clearly understand and communicate supply requirements of the customer and market including quality and delivery performance

Operations

• Work with operations group (engineering, production, quality, melting and finishing) to establish a clear efficient value stream, including material and information flow, which demonstrates consistently improving operational performance
• Work closely with Research and Development team to introduce new products/processes into the production value stream in an efficient and thorough manner

• Establish a set of metrics that specifically measures performance to customer expectations and to internal cost targets
• Continually push to drive waste out of the value stream and establish consistent predictable flow that meets market expectations
• Continually track and improve cost position through rigorous improvement efforts
• Work with our global planning group to ensure inventory levels are managed to balance cost with delivery performance

Suppliers

• Seek out and establish external supplier relationships to fill capability and/or capacity gaps as well as capitalizing on technology or cost advantage.
• Work with Advanced Optics partners to refine and develop new processes
