Program Manager, US IT/ Insurance Operations

About the Job

Responsibilities:  Provide end-to-end management of US IT development and production support services:


Deployment of US process and automation solutions including:




  • Management of systems delivery across the US operations platform


  • Integrated process implementation


  • Incident (pipeline) management


  • Production support, vendor management to SLAs, and all post-production services


  • Individual will be responsible for managing a team of employees and contractors across multiple projects (matrixed)


  • Identification and recruiting of appropriate individuals for project roles


  • Collaborate with stakeholders representing different profit centers, functions, products, and distribution channels


  • Conduct prioritization sessions with the business team, define scope for releases and develop project plans


  • Manage requirements development


  • Work with the business to define acceptance criteria and obtain sign-off


  • Communicate release schedules to users


  • Conduct demonstrations of new system functionality,  to provide visibility to users and ensure solutions in development are consistent with requirements and the business needs


  • Coordinate UAT, training, process and automation roll-out


  • Full systems lifecycle delivery across all phases including planning, requirements, design, development, UAT, testing, training, communications and deployment


  • Create and maintain work plans, resource plans, cost estimates, project scorecards


  • Support the development of a comprehensive application roadmap and release plans


  • Establish and maintain SDLC procedures


Qualifications:




  • Understanding of the fundamentals of insurance operations, distribution and commercial policy life-cycle


  • Commercial insurance experience with focus on Commercial Property, Professional Liability, Casualty and Healthcare businesses


  • Broad knowledge across multiple business functions including underwriting, claims, compliance, reinsurance and financial accounting


  • Understanding of software development lifecycle


  • Demonstrated vendor management experience and comfort with monitoring outsourced services


  • Strong process and analysis background


  • Exceptional planning and project management skills


  • Demonstrated leadership managing multiple tracks of work and stakeholders


  • Exceptional written/verbal communication skills; ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing


  • Ability to work collaboratively with others at all levels


  • Comfortable working in a matrixed environment


  • Ability to adapt to change, and support others as new workflows are defined and implemented.
