Program Specialist of Eligibility and Case Maintenance
About the Job
PSI (www.policy-studies.com), is a rapidly expanding, nationally recognized provider of outsourcing, technology, and consulting services to health and human services organizations.
This position works with customers to access government-sponsored programs and receive program services, such as health insurance for family members. Responsibilities include:
• The eligibility function receives and screens applications, and follows up with customers to gather any missing information. The position also verifies income, calculates income, determines eligibility and processes case referrals.
• The case maintenance function oversees multiple case changes such as adding a family member, address changes, income changes, and documenting the changes in the system.
• Analyzes, interprets and applies complex policies and regulations to the customer’s situation utilizing screening information obtained through the application process.
• Displays excellent communication skills, and an understanding of human behavior to establish an atmosphere in which all contacts with the agency are positive.
• Interacts with program participants on a regular, daily basis
• May educate customers on basic program services and eligibility requirements
• Works with customers to meet and achieve program goals and/or maintain program services and eligibility
The ideal candidate will typically possess the following:
• High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years experience enrollment, eligibility, or case management.
• Experience with MS Office products and in the use of a personal computer.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally, verbally and in writing, to all segments of the population.
• Additional qualification includes four (4) years of problem solving experience
Bilingual Spanish is a plus, but not required
