Programmer Analyst/DBA – Java & Microsoft SQL Server 2005

Job Description:

We are a small business seeking a Java developer/Microsoft SQL Server DBA who is experienced in Java, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, SQL, and Java Beans technology.

The successful candidate would be working a combination of onsite and telecommuting, be able to consistently set and meet timelines for assignments, resolve production issues, and assist in QA while working in a fast pace, dynamic environment.

Core Responsibilities:

·          Program in Java/SQL/J2EE utilizing a Microsoft SQL Server database backend

·          Perform Microsoft SQL Server 2005 DBA responsibilities

·          Provide input and maintenance on Microsoft SQL and Sybase backend

·          Analyze requirements and estimate design/development/test efforts

·          Identify and assist in documenting system and functional requirements, including system flow diagrams

·          Perform detailed code review of application code

·          Deploy and update multiple application environments for QA, UAT, Demo, and Production

·          Mentor and assist fellow development staff and management

·          Work independently with minimal supervision

·          Establish and maintain effective working relationships while supporting company growth and expansion initiatives

Required Skills/Qualifications:

·          Must be a US Citizen

·          5+ years Java programming

·          3+ years J2EE/Enterprise Java Beans development, configuration, and deployment

·          3+ years Web Development

·          5+ years experience in Microsoft SQL Server

·          Experience in Crystal Reports preferred

·          Knowledge of source code control systems

·          Previous experience with Sybase strongly desired

·          Healthcare background a plus
