Programmer Analyst (Java J2EE Engineer)
Java J2EE Engineer As part of our Web Technologies Development Group, the Programmer Analyst is responsible for performing software development functions to support a variety of mission-critical systems for the corporation, including Internet Banking, Enterprise Call Center, Branch Teller and Platform, and Contact Management. This position will spend a majority of his/her time in hands-on, task-oriented, technical implementation of new feature development, new application development, and maintenance of existing applications. The Programmer Analyst will work closely with the ESSP Solution Architect, Lead Developer, and Team Manager for planning and direction. We work in a team-oriented environment requiring significant collaboration with other development team members and other TOPS team members to facilitate project completion. Will apply and/or develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts. Interacts with a variety of people in the organization to impact the achievement of departmental objectives.
- Requires a Bachelor“s in Computer Science, Information Systems or related degree
- 4+ years experience with J2EE technologies, software development life cycle and development tools, or other directly related experience.
- A combination of educational and experience may meet qualifications.
- Advanced knowledge of Java programming language, J2EE technologies, application servers, software architecture, open-source technologies, and software development methodology. We currently use Spring, Hibernate, Ehcache, JSP, Servlet, Struts, EJB 1.0, Ant, Javascript, HTML 4.0, WebLogic and WebSphere application servers, Oracle and DB2 databases, Solaris, AIX, Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Database-specific responsibilities will involve a significant amount of reporting on the systems we support. This is accomplished with SQL, PL-SQL, Unix shell scripting, Crystal Reports, etc.
- Database design principles need to be well understood, along with the ability to work with complex database designs.
- Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to identify, analyze and resolve issues.
- Ability to meet deadlines, schedules and budgeted costs.
- Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas.
