| Job Description: | JOB PURPOSE: Successfully research, review, develop, and test IT systems and write, test and maintain computer programs and databases, while actively supporting optimal internal customer satisfaction. Serve as Midcontinent’s professional representative when dealing with customers and vendors. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Communicate effectively and professionally with group members and internal customers. • Work effectively with internal customers to provide the IT systems and programs they require to be successful in their functions. This includes, but is not limited to: Researching, developing, and reviewing IT systems, writing and maintaining computer programs and databases, and testing these systems, programs, and databases. • Function as an effective team member while supporting the efforts and concepts of other departments in Midcontinent Communications and Midcontinent Media, Inc. • Apply personal ethics, honesty, initiative, flexibility, responsibility and confidentiality in all areas of responsibility. • Multi-task; be able to change from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure • Maintain regular attendance to meet customer demand and support optimal customer satisfaction. • Apply a positive customer service attitude in interactions with all internal customers. • Be able to meet the physical demands of the job within the prescribed work environment. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES : • Proactively research, review, develop, and test IT systems. This includes, but is not limited to: reviewing and developing computer systems, computer languages, data communication processes and user interface devices. • Produce detailed design documents for IT systems, created for both technical and non-technical personnel, clearly diagramming each step of the process and their relationships to each other. • Effectively write, test, and maintain computer programs and databases. This includes, but is not limited to: Producing definitions, process flow documentation, rules and instructions, definitions of database schemas, and error message arrangements. • Successfully write original program code based on defined specifications and be able to test and modify program codes to correct errors or enhance an existing program’s capability. • Accurately prepare detailed documentation to be used for hardware specifications, vendor requirements, etc. • Actively work with internal customers to understand and effectively meet their IT needs. • Provide timely, comprehensive support to internal customers; achieve resolution to outstanding problems or issues. • Communicate effectively with internal customers and staff verbally, in writing, or in person. • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and offer viable recommendations. • Effectively communicate with other departments to handle any escalating issues in a timely manner. • Mentor new hires as required. • Actively participate in group efforts to support customer satisfaction. • Compile timely, comprehensive, and accurate documentation and or reports as requested. • Adhere to company privacy guidelines to ensure each customer’s and employee’s privacy is protected. • Perform other duties as assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required (Information Technology major preferred). • 2+ years programming experience required • 1+ years .Net programming experience required • Previous IT programming experience preferred. | |||
