ASP/VB.NET Programmer Needed
Essential Job Functions
- Codes, tests, debugs, implements, and documents programs. Assists in the modification of company products and/or customer/internal systems to meet the needs of the client and/or end-user.
- Gathers information from the system, analyzes program and time requirements, and prepares documentation to change existing programs.
- Researches and analyzes existing systems and program requirements, under periodic supervision.
- Designs programs for projects or enhancements to existing programs.
- Writes specifications for programs of low to moderate complexity.
- Assists in resolving production support problems.
- Develops test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs.
- Creates appropriate documentation in work assignments such as program code, and technical documentation.
- Conducts quality assurance activities such as peer reviews.
- Remains abreast of industry technical trends and new development to maintain current skills and remain current with industry standards.

Performs DANTES systems analysis, design, integration, programming, documentation and implementation of applications that are administrative or business oriented in nature using current site installed versions of Object Oriented development tools such as Visual Basic and Visual Studio 2008. Develops Object Oriented applications using hypertext development scripting languages. Participates in all phases of software development with emphasis on the integration, programming, testing, documentation and acceptance phases. Applies object-modeling standards for development to technical problems to arrive at automated solutions.
Qualification
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science, mathematics or related field preferred
- Two or more years of experience in programming or testing
- Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems and software
- Experience working with relational databases to facilitate programming software

Prefer Bachelor's with four (4) years within the last five (5) calendar years of related experience or eight (8) years in lieu with H.S. Diploma.

Conducts design, development, testing, deployment, integration, and subsequent maintenance of multiple program initiatives simultaneously. Experience with N-tier systems programming, ASP.NET, ASP, Visual Studio 2008, JavaScript, VBScript, and/or Visual Basic 6.0. Duties will include applying mandated changes to objects or services to be inline with current security requirements. Defining and ensuring best practices related to database design and coding.

Prefer experience with VB.NET 3.5 framework and SQL Server 2005 programming. DoD IT experience, a plus.

ASP.NET, ASP, Visual Studio 2008, JavaScript, VBScript, and/or Visual Basic 6.0., SQL server 2005 developer.

Must be able to handle business sensitive, unclassified data IAW federal government security regulations for contractor personnel.
