The Programmer II assists the Fulfillment Technical Manager and project leads with development, enhancements, and support of fulfillment systems, applications, and production processes.  May function on a project team with responsibilities to a project lead or as a project lead responsible for a development team. Assist in the development, implementation, testing, and operational support of new client solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

  Primarily reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and documenting programs.  This work will include some basic and intermediate application design work and basic and intermediate database design and deployment.

  Functions as a resource for the Fulfillment Technical Manager in the ongoing support and change management of existing fulfillment systems.  These include automated Web-to-print applications for ordering and production of customized static and variable imaged print products, lead generation and loyalty marketing programs, inventory and order management systems, manifest system integration, and others as specified.

  Assists the Fulfillment Technical Manager in the development and support of lower level or less experienced programmers.

Technical Qualifications

• 
  
  Ability to work individually or as part of a team to develop client solutions using licensed applications integrated with core technologies including .NET 3.5 framework for Web application development, vb.NET, SQL 2000 and SQL 2005 databases, Classic ASP, HTML, scripting FTP and XML automation, some SSO and system integration work using SOAP, other SML classes.

  Learn and use key licensed database and Web applications to create Web page, template, and OMS content.
  
  
• 
  
  Develop automated interactive and batch XML data processing, mid to high-level data processing automation within a MS SQL environment; comprehensive technical grasp of database concepts; database experience (design & query) in SQL 2000/2005 Server a plus.
  
  
• 
  
  Able to offer creative client solutions, identifying new tools and technologies and potential applications.

Other Required Qualifications

  Bachelors degree in a related area or equivalent experience
  
  
• 
  
  2-5 years experience in application development
  
  
• 
  
  Clearly demonstrable troubleshooting skills, ability to multi-task and organize priorities, strong verbal communication skills, and a positive and professional demeanor are all strong requirements.

  Team player with a strong desire to learn
  
  
• 
  
  Experience working in the printing, fulfillment and/or direct marketing industry a plus.
