JOB DESCRIPTION:


The primary role of the Project Coordinator will be responsible for providing Company updates and modifications to its current strategic plan by conducting the appropriate utility industry research and analysis to support Company's strategic plan and other short and long-range business initiatives. 


 


MAIN AREAS OF FOCUS


The Project Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating updates and modifications to Company's strategic plan and other business initiatives.  This would include an on-going evaluation through the development of a measurement and verification process to identify the effectiveness of Company's operations as compared to its current goals.  This individual will be continually monitoring the changing industry landscape to evaluate the appropriateness of Company's strategic goals and business initiatives. The Project Coordinator must understand the current and proposed federal and state legislation that affects Company and its customers though, energy and water conservation measures, renewable energy, and other areas that may evolve.  When circumstances warrant a change in plans, various options should be identified and a recommended action plan should be developed.  The Project Coordinator will be required to effectively communicate these updates and proposed modifications to senior management and other Company staff.


 


Another key responsibility of the Project Coordinator position is managing the process of Company's Integrated Resources Plan (IRP).  The IRP determines and guides Company's strategies on conservation and long-range power and water resources in order to meet customer demands reliably while maintaining low costs, mitigating risks and minimizing adverse environmental impacts.  The Project Coordinator will manage the IRP process as well as be a member of the IRP team, a multidisciplinary group of employees from across the utility.


 


Duties May Include:


1.         Performing analytical work on the supply, demand, and pricing of power resources,


2.         Assisting with development of long-range forecasts of electricity and water demand,


3.         Analyzing local, regional, and national energy and water issues and policies,


4.         Working with other staff and consultants to implement and operate models to screen potential resource portfolios on the basis of costs, risks, environmental impacts and other criteria selected by the IRP team,


5.         Performing financial analysis and risk evaluation of long-range resource strategies and other programs,


6.         Planning, writing, and discussing analysis of specified topics,


7.         Advising and making recommendations that help shape decisions or policies regarding long-range utility resource strategies, and


8.         Making presentations to senior management and other Company staff.


 


REQUIREMENTS


1.         Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, economics, or related field.  MBA preferred.


2.         Minimum of ten (10) years in utility planning, rate-setting, conservation measures, policy, or related fields include five (5) years in project management REQUIRED.


3.         Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)


4.         Must be able to understand the impact of long-term planning options to the overall revenue requirement.


5.         Must also understand how the change in revenue requirement will impact the various customer class rate schedules.


6.         Must have the ability to appropriately evaluate and analyze various strategic options and make justified and sound decisions which are in the best interest of Company and its rate payers.


7.         Must demonstrate leadership qualities of initiative, dependability, problem solving, fostering team work, keeping commitments, mentoring and independent activity.


8.         Must have the ability to summarize all pertinent project/program information into a business plan format and effectively communicate the recommendation to Senior Staff is critical. 


 
Salary Range: $70 - 90k/yr based on experience

Full benefits starting day one.
