AS&E is currently seeking a Project Engineer in its Cargo group to help in its production of X-ray inspection equipment for security applications while experiencing significant growth. This is a key position in the Cargo business area.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a record of leading multi-discipline engineering teams (ME, EE and SW) in new product development and spiral development of products for the Cargo Product Line. The candidate will be responsible for engineering deliverables including: Developing detailed testable requirements from high lever marketing requirements; developing concept designs; writing technical specifications; leading team in detailed design, performing design tradeoff analysis; ensuring that products meet requirements and product specifications. The candidate must have strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills as well as strong communications skills, both verbal and written. The qualified candidate will have experience generating engineering estimates, technical schedules and driving proper engineering processes. The successful candidate must be highly motivated and capable of multi-tasking in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in design and development of X-ray imaging systems.

• U.S. Citizenship required
• BS in Engineering; advanced degree preferred
• 5 years prior experience as a design engineer in a new product development setting
• 5 years prior experience leading multi-disciplined engineering teams (ME, EE and SW) in new product development; preferably in a capital equipment environment
• Experience with technical project planning and budgeting using MS Project and Excel
• FMEA and root cause analysis desirable
• Lean design experience desired
