Senior Operations, LLC is a British owned organization with divisions throughout the globe. Our Senior Flexonics division which is in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago in Bartlett, IL is currently looking for an experienced PROJECT ENGINEER to add their expertise to our talented team.

PROJECT ENGINEER - DIESEL PROGRAMS
PURPOSE:
Take design proposals from Customer/Sales Engineer and establish design requirements, material specifications, production processes and tooling required. Guide product through the developmental stages. Provide sustained improvement to critical business program.
EDUCATION: BA, Continous Education; i.e. APQP, PPAP, GD&T, etc...
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Take design concept specifications and/or blueprints from sales engineers and/or customers and develop proto-type, design or pre- production samples.
2. Work with Senior Project Engineers or Program Managers to develop material requirements, performance specifications, fabrication processes, tooling requirements and estimated cost of component or assembly.
3. Complete engineering analysis and testing on product capabilities.
4. Complete project charts and establish milestones and quality factors with products to meet customer requirements.
5. Assist in establishing target pricing based on market analysis, customer requirements and competitive products pricing.
6. Attend customers planning and marketing meetings with sales to understand requirements.
7. Assist Sales in finalizing customers engineering and material requirements.
8. Assist Tool Design, Manufacturing, Quality and Process Engineering in determining processes, routing procedures and sampling plans.
9. Identify new opportunities with existing customers or with application of existing products with new customers.
10. Perform other activities and functions that may be required as position evolves.
11. Maintain drawings, complete timelines and reports as required by business unit.
12. Travel to customers for technical presentations.
13. Look for internal cost reduction opportunities.
KNOWLEDGE:
1. CAD Design (Solidworks, Smart Team or other software).
2. Two years product design of component or assembly parts out of metal and/or plastic.
3. Ability to take physical envelope restrictions and performance requirements for a final product, and design parts or sub assemblies.
4. Experience project management and product development cycles.
5. Knowledge of materials selection and production process.
