Job Summary:
Designs, tests, and documents suspensions for the heavy duty powered vehiclce and trailer market. Will set up and supervise tests. Uses TBS tools. Uses Solid Works/Cosmos for design of product. Works with suppliers, manufacturing, customers to assure design meets reliability, manufacturability and costs constraints. Must work well with customers on specifications. May supervise field installations of prototype suspensions and oversee testing at customer sites. Provide Customer Support.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Ø Uses Solid Works/Cosmos to design suspensions
Ø Uses Tuthill Business Systems and Lean to accomplish duties
Ø Works with team to develop innovative solutions to customer requirements
Ø Designs tests and supervises their completion
Ø Ensures projects are completed on time
Ø Any other duties assigned by management
Ø Administers Tuthill policies and work rules
Ø Some travel requirements (10%)
Ø Responsible for design of suspension systems or sub-systems
Ø Installation and Maintenance manual input and review
Ø New product installation
Qualifications / Training / Skill Requirements:
Ø Excellent communication skills
Ø Understanding and use of Lean Manufacturing and the TBS tools
Ø Good computer skills: fourth shift, MS excel, MS access, MS outlook, MS word, Solidworks, Cosmosworks or equal systems
Ø Good attendance
Ø Ability to work on multiple projects at one time
Ø Ability to work well alone and with others on a team
Ø Attention to details
Ø A strong bias for quailty

Education Requirements:
Ø Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Experience Requirements
Ø 3D modeling experience with SolidWorks 3D system
Ø Two to five years experience in the design of vehicular suspensions - preferred
Ø Experience in Finite Element Analyses using Cosmos.
Physical Demands:
Ø Needs to be hands on and assist in tests set up or prototype installations
Ø ability to lift 50 Lbs
