Project Engineer
Title: Project Engineer
Location: East Aurora, NY
Duration: 11/16/2010
Duties/Responsibilities:
This person will work as part of the project engineering team in support of the design and development of complex control hardware used on military, commercial and NASA vehicles and programs.
Typically this person will be teamed with a senior engineer in support of larger projects or as the lead engineer for smaller scale programs.
Major responsibilities will include the development of project schedules and risk mitigation plans, creation of development assembly and test work instructions, development of test plans and procedures, coordination of development lab activities, creation and submittal of data items and the support of technical trade studies and failure investigations directly with the customer.
In addition to awarded project work, this person will participate in the creation of proposals to support the new business opportunities for the group.
This position is intended to support all of the product lines within the Space and Defense Group.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering or Electrical with a minimum of 6 years of experience, or a Masters of Science Degree in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering with a minimum of 3 years experience.
Previous experience should consist of the design and development of new product and processes.
Skills/Knowledge:
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal is required to support project coordination and customer support.
Candidate must be able to work as an individual contributor or as a member in a team of creative, independent individuals.
Travel:
Travel to customers and vendors required. Average of 6 to 12 trips per year.
