About the Job

DESCRIPTION:  

Job Purpose:

Manages the technical elements including proprietary equipment design, automation systems, electrical engineering, electrical system evaluations, research & development for specific marine applications and project management / coordination.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Manage Automation System: 

  Trouble shoot automation systems

  Evaluate system events (electrical theory) and coordinate issue with customer

  Research & Development for future automation modifications

Research and Development for Marine Applications

  Provide electrical calculations to support design options

  Assist and consult in future design, research and development

Project Engineering 

  Provide technical assistance to project managers

  Provide coordination with outside engineers and consultants

Project Management

  Budgeting

  Tracking

  Coordination with vendor & suppliers

  Coordinate annual inspections and testing with testing agency

Travel

  Travel to job sites within the United States and Canada

Education/ Experience:

Electrical Engineer / PE.  Professional Engineer Degree and must have the authority and ability to stamp electrical drawings.

 

Must have 10 years experience in the electrical industry with five years electrical experience with marine related projects and applications.  Experience should include:  High Voltage Distribution and Switchgear, Substation Controls, Telemetry, Automation, PLC Controls, Relay Protection Systems, Relay Coordination Studies, Electrical Equipment Testing and Startup.
