Project Leader - E-business Applications

About the Job

This position will play a critical role in definition, coordination and delivery of customer facing portal initiatives across the company, with an initial focus on implementing and deploying web content management solutions.
Key responsibilities include partnering with business leaders to define and execute business initiatives focused on growing the internet services we offer our customers.  Initiatives will range from simple to complex and this individual will be involved in all aspects of the project lifecycle: facilitating definition of business requirements, defining project scope and detailed plans, and managing scope, schedule, resources and quality as the project unfolds.  Candidate must have outstanding leadership and communication skills and will be responsible for coordinating project activities involving a number of parties, including a variety of vendors and PerkinElmer employees at all levels.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the software development life cycle, with demonstrated success in IT project leadership and business analysis demonstrated across several software / information management systems development projects.  Experience with project delivery in a global company and coordination with multi-location based project teams is critical.

Technical Skills:  Minimum of 7+ years of IT experience and related technical project management experience.   Strong capabilities using Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office.   Demonstrated success delivering business solutions utilizing Microsoft based platform and internet focused projects.  Experience implementing web content management solutions desired.  PMI or similar Project Management certification desired.

Communication Skills:  Effectively communicates with and engages all levels of the organization verbally and in writing; translates technical decisions/strategies into business terms and implications; produces clear, understandable documentation geared for all audiences. Able to liase effectively with both business partners and development teams

Leadership skills:  Individual must be highly self-motivated and demonstrated ability to execute initiatives with minimal direction and manage a wide range of issues to resolution.

Bachelor's degree required; in technical discipline (for example Computer Science, MIS, Engineering) desired.
