Project Leader - Environmental Hygiene


We invite you to join us at Microtek Medical, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ecolab and a leading manufacturer of infection & fluid control disposable medical products. Position yourself to thrive in Ecolab’s high growth Health Care Division focusing on our hospital room turnover systems and surgical drapes.
We are seeking a Project Leader with a background in Chemistry, Microbiology or related disciplineto lead product development projects and drive development teams by incorporating the voice of the customer and new technologies. This role will solve complex problems utilizing knowledge of Ecolab’s customers and markets. Assignments require the development and selection of appropriate methods, vendors, tests and procedures, review and author technical reports, recommend product quality, process and packaging specifications and implement appropriate action for establishing patents. 
Main Responsibilities

  • As a project team leader, guide a cross functional team of associates from R&D, Operations, Marketing and Finance to deliver big hit and strategic projects.

  • Manage project tasks, resources and timelines from concept through launch utilizing DFE, Quality and Phase Gate tools.

  • Examine potential new technologies or programs for application to Healthcare market segments.

  • Take initiative to stay current with scientific literature and regulatory trends.

  • Develop innovative applications and extensions of existing or new products, processes, systems or methods having major importance to the business.

  • Ensure that proprietary project innovations are protected with proper legal instruments (e.g. patents).

  • Apply scientific skill to solve complex problems utilizing knowledge of Ecolab’s customers and market.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering or related technical field and 5-7 years related experience or Master’s degree with 3-5 years experience or PhD with 2+ years experience.

  • 3+ years project management experience.

  • Knowledge of FDA and OSHA requirements.

  • Immigration sponsorship not available for this role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in leading complex, multi-function project teams.

  • Strong communication skills with ability to clearly articulate technical subject matter.

  • Familiarity with scientific organizations such as ASTM as well as public health and regulatory agencies such as EPA, USDA, etc.

  • Ability to create innovative solutions toward key application issues for the business.

  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.

  • Publication and presentation experience.

  • Experience with sterile or aseptic techniques.
