Role: 

As a result of our growth, Magic Hat Consulting is looking to hire a Practice Director to further help expand the Project / Program Management services we deliver to the marketplace.

 

Responsibilities:

This role offers the right person an abundance of opportunities including, but not limited to, the development of service offerings, definition and development of all delivery-based artifacts, methodologies and supporting materials, creation of Statements of Work, creation of marketing material, establishment of delivery teams, business development and marketing, engagement management, hands-on project delivery, speaking engagements, authoring white papers, establishment of vendor relationships and all other items related to the establishment, growth and management of a successful Professional Services Practice.

 

Qualifications:

·         Minimum 15 years combined experience in the roles of Project/Program management, including 5 or more years in a leadership role with significant senior leadership interface.

·         Skilled in Project Charter, Project Planning, Work Breakdown Structure, Level-of-Effort Estimating, Risk Analysis/Mitigation/Management, Change Control, Project Tracking and Cost Accounting, Reporting and Dashboard development, RACI analysis, RFP/RFI Development, SOW development, SDLC, PMBOK, SCRUM (Agile), RUP, Six Sigma and CMM.

·         Skilled in developing enterprise wide IT project/program management practices, governance standards, process and metrics.

·         Skilled in identifying solution needs for clients and authoring/presenting SOWs to address such needs.

·         Extensive knowledge of the software development lifecycle and project delivery.

·         Extensive knowledge/experience around presenting and communicating to executive-level clients.

·         Knowledge of and working experience with a variety of software products and companies within the Project and Portfolio management space is required.

·         Prior experience working for a Professional Services Organization is preferred.

·         Insurance and/or Financial industry experience is preferred.

·         Strong desire to be play a key role in growing an organization is a must.

·         Ability to thrive in a small company/entrepreneurial environment is required.

·         Prior Practice Director experience is preferred.

·         Project (PMP) or Program Management (PgMP) certification is a plus, active member of PMI preferred.
