We have an opening for two (2) Project Managers  in Dallas / Fort Worth, TX.   One is initially a 3 month contract opportunity that will be extended and the other is initially 8 months contract that could go much longer.

Candidate performs work under supervision and regularly reports to a manager or team lead. The person will work collaboratively with business units, technical leads, engineers and architects, and external vendor project teams. Develops and manages project documentation, budgets and plans for large scale deployment project. This individual will track progress and provide project status reports according to the information needs of the stakeholders including, at times, executive level staff. Assists in the identification, reporting, & resolution of risks and issues as well as mitigation plans. Interacts with technical teams & business teams to ensure necessary activities are completed. Participates daily in project tracking, planning and status meetings. Assists in developing and implementing project communication plans. May participate in cross program project reviews and planning.

 

Candidate must have strong analytical, organizational, planning, interpersonal and negotiating skills, with the ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, with all levels of management. Must also be able to multitask, reprioritize activities quickly and effectively. Must be a team focused individual, a strategic thinker and willing to represent the views of the enterprise. The candidate must have high energy, possess a positive attitude. A solid background in project management, a college degree or work equivalent and a good understanding of project lifecycles and general technical knowledge of desktop services and infrastructure are a must.

Job Description: #1023

Project manager will support multiple projects including the Sales and Use Tax CAAPTURE project for the Financial Systems Team. The cost for this effort is included in the approved CAAPTURE PAD

 

Will have the following responsibilities:

·         Responsible for project start-up activities including obtaining project funding authorization, scope definition, preparation of PDD, risk management plan, identification of project interfaces and user acceptance testing criteria.

·         Development of project WBS

·         Development of project schedule.

·         Ensuring project schedule is on track and maintained according to best practices.

·         Establishing project baseline

·         Ensuring project calendars are accurate.

·         Ensuring conformance to standards and methodologies

·         Adherence to approved project schedule

·         Ensuring quality checks are performed on project schedules

·         Ensuring project schedules are leveled across projects that share common resources.

·         Identifying and managing project interfaces

·         Managing project schedule and financial variances

·         Managing project issue and change management process

·         Managing project quality checks on project schedules

·         Ensuring quality checks are performed on User Acceptance Testing (bug tracking).

·         Monitoring and revising risk management plan on regular basis.

·         Development of project-specific reports and presentations

·         Communication of project status based on communication plan.

·         Responsible for creation and distribution of Steering Committee Packets

·         Management of all project data

·         Updates to project notebook with project deliverables and documents

·         Conducting all project meetings

·         Disseminating all project communications, as stated in communication plan.

·         Direction of project team members

·         Project facilitating, scheduling, organizing, preparing, documenting, and distributing materials for regular

·         and special project meetings

·         Assigning ownership to all project action items and for subsequent follow-up.

Qualifications:

Excellent written and oral communication skills. Able to multitask, reprioritize activities quickly and effectively. Must be a team focused individual, a strategic thinker and willing to represent the views of the enterprise. The candidate must have high energy and possess a positive attitude. A solid background in project management, a college degree or work equivalent and a good understanding of the Unified Process is a must. Good negotiating skills and experience with Use Case development and Unified Modeling Language are of benefit. Experience with agile methodology a plus. Working knowledge of Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Dreamweaver, Teamsite, Interwoven and PMI certification considered a plus.
