The Powertrain Oil Seals Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple, complex projects comprising multi-faceted business programs.  This position is responsible for providing overall leadership and guidance to the APQP process, including program planning, budgetary considerations, on-time deliverables, and assessment and reporting of project status to ensure creative and technical success. The Project Manager is expected to provide leadership, direction and development for APQP Project Teams and to actively contribute to continuous improvement of the product development process. The Project Manager is expected to play a key role in existing and potential client relationships, ensure flawless launch goals are met, and be proactive in optimizing business results. Project Manager is responsible for ensuring all aspects of internal and external program communications are defined and published, establishing and tracking program performance metrics, program planning, managing program timelines, and a mastery of project management processes and best practices.


 


 




RESPONSIBILITIES:






  • Strategically and proactively manages new launch program(s).

  • Leads APQP Project Teams to define, establish and ensure completion of all program milestones and adherence to timelines and budgets, driving them to meet revenue goals and other performance metrics.

  • Acts as gatekeeper for final hand-off to production. Cost, run at rate, and quality targets met.



  • Works with internal and external customers to support business objectives for new programs, assists departments with business case preparation, strategic and tactical planning as necessary. 

  • Analyzes and resolves escalated project issues that have the potential to jeopardize the ability to meet agreed upon deliverables. Ensures conflicts are resolved within customer required timing.

  • Manages company and customer expectations on all program requirements and deliverables. Provides full and accurate program communication with the internal and external clients.

  • Verifies engineering outputs for product costing meet strategic objectives and cost targets. Ensures Team Feasibility is completed prior to costing.

  • Manages follow-up and completion of action items identified in Team Feasibility documents

  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the FNGP development methodology, utilizing lessons learned approach, etc.

  • Ensures weekly and monthly APQP project status reports are generated and distributed.  Determines when to escalate issues to appropriate levels of management.

 


QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS:



  • Demonstrated ability in managing internal and external company and client expectations of APQP program requirements and deliverables.

  • Ability to implement short and long term program objectives and monitor effectiveness, striving for continuous program improvement.

  • Subject matter expert in the application of APQP solutions.

  • Exceptional understanding and mastery of business drivers of program, proactive in optimizing business results.

  • 7+ years of Program Management or Project Management experience.

  • Extensive experience leading cross-functional teams within a formalized product development methodology.

  • Analytical, strategic, and articulate, has highly developed business acumen, and excels at directing a cross-functional project teams to effectively support assigned programs and deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills, especially presentation skills.

  • Previous Manufacturing experience, required.

  • Must travel and work overtime as necessary.

        ·      Works schedule includes standing, sitting and walking, primarily.


·      Speaking and hearing sufficient for understanding, required.


·      Visual requirements include: close, distance, color, peripheral, and ability to adjust focus.


·      Must have sufficient manual dexterity to use hands and fingers in use of key board entry.


·      Major portion of work schedule is spent sitting.


·      Lifting up to 50 lbs., occasionally.


·    Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer on a full-time basis.
