These positions help to support US Employee Services and are part of Corporate Information Services. US Employee Services (USES) is a division of GE Corporate and is responsible for payroll and benefits delivery to all domestic GE employees and retirees, and in some cases global populations. USES is primarily located in Schenectady, NY and is a matrix organization with various functional units such as: finance/accounting, healthcare, operations, quality/training, products, and service delivery. Corporate Information Services is also a division of GE Corporate and provides a wide array of systems solutions and shared services to Corporate operating components and GE businesses. The PeopleSoft Technologies team is responsible for the infrastructure support for 7 production PeopleSoft applications. The applications process payroll, calculate pensions, and manage benefits. The applications are mission critical to GE, and therefore the infrastructure they reside on needs to be highly available, secure, and stable.
Role Summary/Purpose Supervisor of business solutions projects in assigned applications area. Develops, sells & implements project plans, beginning with project team structure & resource assignment, & ending with a control plan identifying business process metrics & IT platform quality requirements. Identifies critical path decisions, makes recommendations & influences program leaders & business process owners to maximize project payback.
Essential Responsibilities Some key responsibilities of this position include: Lead and execute on PeopleSoft application and PeopleTools upgrades for multiple PeopleSoft Products (HRMS, CRM, and Portal). · Analyze and apply PeopleSoft Application patches, Tax Updates, and bundles. · Complete detailed failure mode analysis and help to ensure 24x7x365 availability of the production applications. · Support PeopleSoft n tier environments consisting of Unix/Oracle and Windows platforms. · Utilize technical skills and testing processes to configure and tune PeopleSoft PIA components (Application Servers, Web Servers, Process Schedulers, Publication and Subscription handlers, etc). · Perform and help to further automate PeopleSoft object compares and code migrations. · Design and develop processes and controls to ensure code line integrity. · Work with internal team members and external vendors to triage, troubleshoot, and debug system and application issues (e.g., performance, errors, connectivity, etc). · Provide on going capacity analysis and planning to determine future projections of hardware requirements and/or configuration changes. · Develop and maintain quality System Administration documents/checklists as well as training material. · Assist in the implementation of new security initiatives. · Project plan and coordinate and communicate work with other teams for any related system maintenance.
Qualifications/Requirements Qualificatons: - Bachelors Degree in Computer Sciences or IT equivalent or 4 years Project Manager Experience -4+years prior experience working as a System Administrator in a PeopleSoft environment.· In depth knowledge of PeopleSoft Internet Architecture (Application Server, Web Server, Process Scheduler) from an installation and configuration perspective, as well as support and maintenance.· Significant hands-on (4 years+) experience applying Application and Tools upgrades.· Significant hands-on experience (4 years+)installing PeopleTools and applying Tax Updates.· In depth knowledge (4 years+) of PeopleSoft Development Tools (Application Engines, Component Interfaces, PeopleCode).· Strong (4 years+) analytical and troubleshooting/debugging skills.· Experience with Data Mover, Application Designer/Object Migrations, and applying Patches/Fixes.· Significant PeopleSoft Architecture design experience. Desired Characteristics · An additional 3+ years experience developing PeopleSoft HRMS or CRM.· Multiple years of experience providing production support for PeopleSoft HRMS or CRM within a large organization.· PeopleSoft certification.· Experience with Oracle 10g and 11g.· Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and/or industry activities.· Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources· Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer; builds strong customer relationships and creates processes with customer viewpoint· Strong analytical skills – strong problem solving skills, communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information/data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve.· Change oriented – actively generates process improvements; supports and drives change, and confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways
