Project Manager - Environmental Water / Wastewater

Overview:

With the understanding that effective management of our water resources is critical to public health, economic development, and the long-term health of the environment, our Environmental Infrastructure group is focused on delivering and managing sustainable water and wastewater solutions. This is where great people and great ideas truly make a difference. Our team members are passionate about resource renewal and sustainability, and apply both knowledge and technology to deliver life cycle solutions for both public and private sector clients. We collaborate on developing innovative solutions for complex projects in the areas of advanced water and wastewater process design, water supply, conveyance, pumping, and storage.

Responsibilities:

1. Serve as the project manager for planning, design and construction administration efforts related to public works projects such as water/ wastewater treatment facilities, collection systems, water distribution and pumping stations for a variety of clients.
2. Understand and possess ability to communicate technical concepts to other staff and clients.
3. Work with clients and develop long term, positive relationships.
4. Direct project engineers and staff in the successful delivery of technical projects. Must be able to manage several projects simultaneously.
5. Fully responsible for project delivery, managing multiple assignments -- $500K per year in revenue, 3-4 staff.
6. Conduct business development activities including the identification of opportunities, proposal preparation, presentations, and contract negotiations. Must be able to identify the appropriate opportunities in accordance with the region's business development plan, prepare campaign outlines for pursuit and negotiate/secure contracts.
7. Help achieve the Company's strategic objectives; align resources with goals and pursue opportunities that meet group's objectives.
8. Understand local business climate and develop new opportunities.
9. Establish strong, productive internal collaborative relationships with the Office Manager, Regional Practice Leaders and Regional Managing Leader.

Qualifications:

BS or MS degree (preferred) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 20 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of skills and experience

Professional Engineer license in New Hampshire or ability to attain within a year.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and a proven talent at business development.
Business development skills such as client service and proposal preparation experience.
Recent experience managing projects; development of scope, schedule, and budget; monitoring cost and schedule.
Understand Scheduling concepts and have familiarity with software such as Microsoft Project or equivalent.
Computer proficient, including the Microsoft Office suite; GIS experience is a plus.
