Sylvan engineering teams exhibit high energy, deep technical skills and a drive to get things done.  Our teams develop the next-generation applications in the Education market including distance tutoring solutions, digital learning platforms, educational content management solutions, and on-line consumer facing platforms.  The Project Manager is a technical leader and motivator who can lead teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.   

The Project Manager is accountable for the successful delivery of software solutions which includes custom development and implementation of commercial software.  The Project Manager leads a team of engineers and sets the team's goals, prioritizes the work, manages schedules, and keeps them productive.  The Project Manager manages a medium size team of individual contributors, and will be expected to command their technical respect while providing a professional customer-focused interface to the rest of the company.  The Project Manager fills the role of the Scrum Master.

 

*         Forms strong cross-functional relationships to provide the ability to lead a project team, taking the project from start to finish.

*         Deliver software solutions on time and on budget.

*         Coordinate and facilitate Scrum process meetings including Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.

*         Manage a team of 3-6 software engineers; manages multiple software solutions.

*         P&L accountability for the departments/projects managed.

*         Conduct performance reviews of team members.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

 

*         U.S. Citizen or Permanent Work Visa required.

*         B.S. in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent).

*         At least 2 years experience managing large-scale, aggressive, and dynamic technical projects.

*         At least 2 years of previous software development experience on the Microsoft platform.

*         Certified Scrum Master or PMP.

*         Ability to motivate and demonstrate technical leadership.

*         Experience in the Education market is a plus, but not required.

*         Position requires minimal travel.
