"We are Searching for Highly Experienced Project Managers with Signing, Lighting, Traffic Signal, Intelligent Transportation System and Related Experience!"



PLEASE NOTE: This Position Must Relocate to the Baltimore, Maryland Area! Relocation Covered up to $5,000.00.


The Project Manager estimates and project manages work and ensures that their team is achieving excellent results. The project manager communicates company mission, vision, values, goals, and policies and ensures that their teams are supporting them. The project manager sets an example by their work ethic and professional conduct and contributes to their team members accountability for performance. This position has great potential to become a senior level position in the future. Only candidates with signing, lighting, traffic signal, intelligent transportation system and related experience will be considered.



The Qualifications and Responsibilities of the Project Manager are as Follows:
  • Must have 10 plus years experience as a Project Manager in the signing, lighting, traffic signal, intelligent transportation system and related industry.



    Strategic Planning

  • Set up and maintain satellite or field offices, including staff, utilities, security and supplies.

  • Become a leader in an appropriate contractor organization: MHCA, VTCA, ABC, ARTBA, etc.

  • Prepare for and add useful input to combined Supt / PM and strategic planning meetings.

  • Actively participate in yearly goal setting.

  • Train, supervise and evaluate project managers, project engineers and administrative staff on proper work habits, planning, communication and duties.

  • Reinforce company policies, culture, values, and work ethic to all employees.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with owners and general contractors in pursuit of new work.

  • Estimate projects as necessary.

  • Obtain appropriate licenses and certifications in pursuit of company goals.

  • Monitor owner websites for project opportunities, as assigned.



    Job Costs

  • Set up project budget & cost codes.

  • Update project estimate as PCOs and substantial quantity revisions are realized; quarterly, at a minimum.

  • Submit requests for stored material payments for materials exceeding $5k.

  • Notify Owner / GC of pending change orders.

  • Price, negotiate, process and track pending change orders.

  • Review job cost weekly for all active projects.

  • Prepare for, attend, and follow up on regular job cost meetings.

  • Submit weekly time sheets to payroll for proper cost allocation.



    Scheduling

  • Request & receive project schedule from Owner / GC, with regular updates.

  • Maintain project schedule with owner when we’re the prime contractor.

  • Make three week major material delivery schedule for superintendents for their use in preparing their production schedules.

  • Coordinate weekly with Superintendents on 3-week production schedule to ensure project needs are met.



    Subcontracting and Materials

  • Write subcontracts and major purchase orders. Assure countersignatures before payment.

  • Schedule subcontractors and major material deliveries.

  • Set up source of material and material control sheets and submit data as required.

  • Send material control sheet to proper person for purchase of materials, excluding major POs.

  • Approve invoices from suppliers and subcontractors, after collation by Administrative Assistant.



    Operations Coordination

  • Set up and review foreman’s book with superintendent and/or foreman.

  • Review daily report procedures, use of cost codes.

  • Visit the jobsite on a regular basis and attend regular meetings with Owners / GC.

  • Monitor field work to assure adherence to plans / specifications and company safety policies.

  • Monitor man power and equipment usage and coordinate with superintendent and/or foreman.

  • Review job costs on a regular basis with superintendent and/or foreman.

  • Copy all plan revisions, approved shop drawings to field supervision.



    Project Administration

  • Read the contract for every project.

  • Receive and review bid specifications, plans and pricing worksheets from Estimating.

  • Complete project set up sheet and set up paper and electronic files.

  • Submit all owner-required contract forms (subletting requests, EEO, MBE, etc.).

  • Send company project contact information to Owner / GC.

  • Submit requests for information as needed.

  • Process shop drawings and submittals.

  • Submit invoices, delivery tickets, material certifications to Owner / GC as work is done.

  • Follow up on invoices and ensure prompt payment from Owner / GC.

  • Resolve quantity issues by the next estimate period.

  • Receive plan revisions, review and develop change order requests if required.

  • Review daily reports from field.

  • Send progress updates to Owner / GC.

  • Send appropriate written correspondence to Owner / GC.

  • Recognize when to elevate an issue.

  • Close out project as expeditiously as possible.
