Project Manager Downtown DC (Union Station), DC 20001
SRA is seeking a seasoned Project Manager who will bring exceptional client management skills to oversee and manage one of our projects with the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) in the Administrative Office of the United States Courts (AOUSC). We are working to create a Business Intelligence Tool using Business Objects to modernize the system for collecting, tracking, analyzing, and reporting on the caseloads experienced throughout the federal judiciary.
This Project Manager will oversee a dynamic project team with multiple clients, subcontractors, and a team of 11 staff. This Project Manager will manage the project currently in 3 stages: development for conversion to Business Objects, testing of recent developments, and some Operations and Maintenance. Position is for full time employment and based at our client's office in downtown DC (Union Station).
Key Responsibilities include: Planning and tracking projects throughout the full SDLC; delegating tasks to developers; working with the analyst, developers, tester, tech writer, DBAs, Sys Admins, and other staff to coordinate development and testing activities. Implement communication plans and oversee team tasking across the project to ensure collaboration and best practices are followed. Reporting issues to SRA's client and then establishing resolution; gaining client and team buy in; and following through on agreed upon resolution. Documenting technical solutions, which requires outstanding writing and presentation skills. Working with senior government executives and lawyers to manage key developments in the program which may involve various government regulations. Understanding and managing the business problems and processes addressed by the software applications. Using MS Project and work load estimating tools are a major component of the work. Estimating and managing work effort and resources for development and releases of new and existing application software. Required Skills: Requires excellent experience in leading software development teams in the construction of applications. Strongly prefer experience leading business intelligence projects (preferably with Business Objects). Requires strong client management skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Requires experience using Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Must have experience managing software development projects, including project scheduling and meeting development deadlines. Solid understanding of the SDLC and how it can meet the needs of our customers, the ability to communicate system needs to testers and end users. Must be able to work in a CM controlled environment. Requires flexibility, teamwork, and a can-do attitude. Requires experience managing projects for outside clients. Federal Government consulting experience preferred. PMP Certification preferred.
