Job Summary: 


Provides project leadership for multiple projects (engineering, bid & proposal, customer contracts), across all phases and departments including engineering, operations, sales, purchasing, and other functions.  Responsible for managing project deliverables, timelines, budgets, and risks.  Responsible for communication as well as technical and other reviews.  Ensures that specifications are clear and are being met and that work is proceeding on schedule and budget


 


Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 


·         Manage Project Deliverables, Timeline, Budget & Risk


·         Directs and coordinates project/contract-related activities to ensure that design, performance, quality, delivery, and budget requirements meet or exceed expectations.


·         Develops, updates and communicates detailed Gantt charts that encompass all areas; ensures that tasks are completed or rescheduled as needed.


·         Establishes procedural controls to measure and monitor the project’s progress (such as estimated and actual schedule, hours, and costs).


Communication


·         Ensures communication and coordination amongst all project stakeholders; communicates with all project team members to meet requirements and improve product quality, improve processes, and resolve issues.


·         Maintains a consistent follow-up procedure with each department to ensure adherence to plan.


·         Interfaces with customers as required to ensure project success and customer satisfaction.


Technical Reviews


·         Ensures specifications are analyzed, defined, and documented; reviews drawings and specifications of products to ensure all the details are covered and plans are made for the necessary resources


·         Reviews designs & design status with Engineering on a regular basis


·         Coordinates cross-functional review meetings (involving customer and key employees as needed)


 


Education and Training: 


·         A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field is required; or equivalent combination of education and on-the-job training


·         PMP or other Project Management / PMI certification desired


 


Skills and Experience: 


·         Must have experience in project management for new product development projects


·         5-8 years of total related experience (Engineering, Manufacturing, Technical, Government Project experience a plus), with a minimum of 3 years in project management


·         Experience in a manufacturing company is required (preferably electro-mechanical assemblies or hardware/software systems), with significant exposure to the functions of engineering/design, sales and contracting


·         Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Project, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)


·         Experience managing the introduction of electronic and software based new products from conception, through product development, manufacturing introduction, field verification, and commercial launch.

·         Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others; work courteously, diplomatically and tactfully with customers and employees


·         Manage multiple projects simultaneously
