Project Manager
About the Job
The project manager is responsible for managing multiple client projects simultaneously under contract; forming and building project teams, working closely with team members from within the business unit and client organizations to accomplish project objectives successfully. The project manager creates and executes project plans using Microsoft Project and other project management tools, manages the day-to-day aspects of a project, and effectively communicates with the client and internal project team to ensure project requirements; timelines, revenue and profit expectations are met. The project manager possesses well-developed skills in communication and collaboration, and is comfortable working in a fast changing and growing entrepreneurial environment where accountability, service, quality, efficiency and innovation are key components.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
Client and Project Management
• Assumes and can perform as the leader of projects under contract
• Establishes and gets approval on project charter
• Creates and executes project work plans using Microsoft Project and revises as appropriate to meet project requirements
• Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and assignments to team members
• Manages day-to-day client interactions, setting and managing client expectations
• Effectively applies our project management methodology and escalates when issues arise
• Seeks opportunities to increase client satisfaction and deepen client relationships
• Reviews deliverables prepared by the project team before providing to client
• Minimizes exposure and risk on projects
• Manages project budget and analyzes utilization
• Understands pricing models and billing procedures
• Assures project legal documents are completed and executed
• has experience with earned value management systems
• can juggle multiple projects and priorities yet maintain site of the bigger picture without sacrificing details
• must be able to work independently with little supervision
Teamwork and Communication
• Facilitates team and client meetings effectively
• Holds regular status meetings with project team and knows how to obtain and project status and variances at completion

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or education-related field
• 3-5 years experience managing client projects and leading project teams
• Holds a Project Management Professional (PMP® ) credential
• Preferred but not required: experience in the training and competency building industry; federal government experience and understands how the government works
