Job Description:
The PM is responsible for overseeing the development process for a project; primarily directed at, but not limited to, the technical aspect. This position is required to get the Policy Tracking System (PTS) and all system requirements developed, tested and ready for installation. This responsibility is at a top level and is primarily directed at ensuring that a proper technical team exists and is allocated the time to develop the PTS on time. The PM must develop a project plan to adhere to all contractual milestones. The PM must meet the milestone allocated with each project and coordinate with the customer on any deviations. The PM will work with his/her team of developers daily to ensure the system requirements are being met, quality work is produced, and system integrity is not hindered.
During the initial development phase, the primary role of the PM is to direct and schedule the development efforts of the programmers and ensure that all the information needed to develop the system is provided by the Customer. The PM is the final authority in resolving any technical/development issues after input from the Lead Tech and Lead Programmer.
The PM ensures that any new system level design efforts and complete requirements analysis of all processes, interfaces, etc. is accomplished during the initial stages of development.
Throughout the entire development phase, the PM is the manager of the entire technical development process and is the primary means of communication/coordination between the Project Coordinator, Quality Assurance (QA), Customer and the technical team.
The PM coordinates testing efforts with QA to ensure sufficient testing of the system, during all phases, to meet milestones and reviews.
The PM is responsible for each team member’s productivity, quality of work, and scheduled time off. A performance feedback analysis will be conducted every quarter in preparation for the annual evaluation. The PM is required to provide a complete weekly project update that includes customer disposition and milestone status. The PM will conduct a weekly customer call for project status updates and to coordinate requirements with the Customer and internally with other essential teams ensuring the integrity of the systems function.
Experience in the Insurance Industry is preferred but not required.
