Joslin Diabetes Center is an internationally recognized diabetes care, research and education institution affiliated with Harvard Medical School and headquartered in Boston, MA. Joslin's continuing education activities for physicians and other health professionals advance the highest standards of care, drawing on up-to-the-minute medical literature to provide current, relevant, and evidence-based findings from Joslin faculty and other experts. The Project Manager manages the production of accredited continuing education activities to ensure academic rigor, professional production, and maximum reach. Project management responsibilities include working closely with Professional Education faculty and staff to ensure all activity deliverables are provided in the designated timeframe and within budget limitations while maintaining communication with onsite meeting personnel, grantors, vendors, faculty, and staff as needed.
Responsibilities include:
· Working within budget parameters, prioritizes tasks, identifies deadlines and clearly communicates priorities and objectives to faculty and staff
· Maintains ongoing communication with CME administrator to assure the proper handling of accreditation approvals and compliance issues
· Works closely with the course director(s) to finalize the course agenda and content outline, identify appropriate faculty speakers and/or writers, recruit and confirm faculty and arrange faculty conference calls
· Coordinates with hotels to ensure timely and cost-appropriate procurement of meeting space, food and beverage services, audiovisual needs, onsite staffing, and other onsite meeting needs. Communicates with all vendors and procure contracts for signature of Director.
· Oversees the faculty recruitment process, including confirming availability, obtaining financial disclosures and other ACCME required documents, setting relevant timelines for requested deliverables, arranging travel and reimbursement, and providing guidance where needed
· Communicate with production services to ensure timely and cost-appropriate development, production, and fulfillment of marketing materials, onsite signage, handouts, evaluations, slides, and other program materials
Qualifications include:
· Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired.
· 2-4 years office experience coordinating projects or events and activities and/or continuing education activities, or relevant other experience.
· Experience working with physician faculty.
· Experience in meetings management.
· Computer literate with advanced skills in Excel and Word
· Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated skills in analysis and judgment of complex situations with potential legal and financial ramifications.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Outgoing and direct personality who enjoys responsibility and independence.
