Position Title:   ProJECT manager, SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER, or program manager

Reports to:        executive director, Delivery

location:            Los Angeles or Orange county

  

Project Manager/ Senior Project Manager Responsibilities:

·       Play a lead role in the delivery of engagements as well as a supporting project role contributing to the preparation of customer deliverables

• Manage the delivery of the project, assuring customer satisfaction and project profitability.
•  Lead a consulting team through all phases of project delivery, including all phases of the software development life cycle.
• Define and manage project scope.
• Develop and maintain project plan, resource plan, and task statuses.
• Identify project dependencies and workstreams for other vendors and client; define overall plan with client.
• Define project team organization, assign and monitor task completion.
• Facilitate technical, operational and/or business requirements gathering processes.
• Facilitate staff travel, expense and time reporting.
• Schedule meetings, formally document meeting minutes and action items.
• Lead kickoff meetings for each project phase through closeout.
• Coordinate development estimation efforts.
• Manage bug triage and resolution process during testing.
• Identify and communicate project risks and issues to client and internal management.
• Monitor and control project execution for on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Maintain project documentation.
• Mentor staff and facilitate teamwork.
• Coordinate with offshore team members for team communication and task completion.
• Organize technical reviews and quality checkpoints.
• Manage distributed (onshore-offshore) teams.

 

Program Manager Responsibilities:

·         Represent AAXIS as single-point contact for the customer.

·         Maintain profitability and customer satisfaction.

·         Identify business opportunities within customer organization - work with Sales/Account      Mgmt team to further and close the opportunities.

·         Develop relationships with key client stakeholders and client executives.

·         Provide day-to-day project contact for the client.

·         Identify staffing needs and coordinate with Director for resource allocation.

·         Onboard and train new project managers following company’s project management          methodology.

·         Directly supervise the Project Manager(s).

·         Directly lead a project in a combined Project Mgr/Program Manager role.

·         Oversee execution of the projects in distributed (onshore-offshore) environment.

·         Assess and manage risk over the project lifecycle.

·         Create SOWs; manage key terms and dates.

·         Track client invoicing and AR status with internal Finance team.

·         Develop and track integrated project plans.

·         Control development of project deliverables.

·         Identify and manage project issues.

·         Provide program oversight for combined onshore/offshore delivery team.

·         Ensure the use of best practices and apply lessons learned from previous projects.

·         Work with Director to enhance project methodology and strengthen the Delivery          

           team’s capabilities.

 

 

Qualifications:

·         BS/MS (CS, Business or equivalent); MBA preferred.

Experience/Skills:

·         Project Manager/ Senior Project Manager:   Total of 5+ years of experience with 

          atleast 3+ years in direct project management roles.

·         Program Manager:   Total of 8+ years of experience with at least 3+ years 

          in direct project/program management roles.

·         Experience in planning and managing software delivery projects.

·         Proven ability to lead, coordinate, and manage project tasks, in a matrix organization.

·         Demonstrated skill in client relationship management and ability to lead technical and

          delivery team members.

·         Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

·         Solid problem solving skills.

·         Excellent relationship building skills.

·         Strong team management skills.

·         Understanding of project management PMI methodology.

·         Experience of multiple full project lifecycles from business development to final delivery.

·         Background in Retail Industry and eCommerce applications a definite MUST.

·         Program Manager:   Experience in planning and managing project inter-dependencies,

          and managing resources.

·         Program Manager:   Ability to lead, coordinate, and manage project initiatives, directly

          managing one or more project managers.

·         Program Manager:   Experience with issue resolution across multiple locations and

          businesses.

·         Program Manager:   Demonstrated skill in client relationship management and ability to

          manage, direct and command respect from technical and delivery team members.

·         Program Manager:   Excellent communication, presentation, qualifying, closing and

          negotiation skills.Ability to prospect within assigned clients and uncover new

          opportunities.
