The Wireless Networks Project Manager (PM) will perform hands-on execution of Air Force 2GWLAN projects. The PM will be responsible for project management support to assigned 2GWLAN site deployment efforts including requirements definition and analysis; site survey and design; installation and systems acceptance testing of 2GWLAN sites throughout the United States. The PM will foster teamwork, unity, and cooperative working relationships with geographically separated stakeholders. In addition, the PM will facilitate project status meetings and reviews and other off- and on-site activities; and performs all duties with safety as a top priority.
- Proficient with MS Office programs, including MS Project.
- Ability to provide guidance and direction, identify key objectives and priorities, define scope of work meet and exceed stakeholder expectations regarding communication and quality of service
- Proven experience with RF engineering and wireless topologies and applications
- Proven experience with Wireless predictive modeling tools and software
- Responsible for the development and delivery of detailed status reports containing financial results, physical progress, productivity schedule and other issues, changes in scope etc. for projects under his/her responsibility.
- Exhibits a superior ability to work independently performing site surveys for estimates, proposal preparation, or quality assurance. Provides documentation, reports, and information to operations as directed.
- Constantly monitors projects for P&L margins to meet or exceed estimates
- Recognizes changes to the contracted Scope of Work and presents supporting documentation required for Customer approval of Requests for Changes.
- Initiates and monitors installation standards, and technical and supervisory training (OJT) sessions for Technicians and junior crewmembers.
- Furthers oneself through ongoing education and certifications including but not limited to corporate or specialty courses.
- Current Secret Clearance or ability to obtain a Secret level clearance is mandatory.
- Ability to travel for extended periods (3-4 months at a time) is a mandatory requirement
- College degree, preferably in a technical field, construction, or a commensurate level of relevant experience
- Formal Project Management training/ certification (PMP) is desirable
- Minimum of 10 years experience with Department of Defense (ideally Air Force) contractor tasking, progress reviews and management
- Minimum 5 years experience with wireless networks design, installation and maintenance.
