Actuarial IT Project Manager, Bi-Lingual ----Please review carefully.
Overview of Position
This position is responsible for planning and managing the delivery of application technical production support services for the business objectives of the Finance Actuarial Department. This will include planning, estimating, execution, implementation, and ongoing support. This position will interact closely with the PMO, the technical teams, and the functional Finance Actuarial business group to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of systems solutions deployed in support of business goals and objectives.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
;Effectively communicate in English and Spanish with IT and Business teams globally and in the Home Office.
Define and manage project scope, milestones and deliverables using appropriate project management tools and project management process for the Prophet implementation in Latin America.
Manage changes in project scope, identifying potential risks and devising contingency plans.
Coordinate the efforts of the technical team members and the functional business team members in order to deliver projects according to plan.
Effectively communicate project expectations to team members in a clear and timely fashion.
Prepare weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly reports as will be determined by PMO.
Analyze status reports from the project teams and troubleshoot problem areas.
Conduct project post mortems and create a lessons learned report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Assist with developing best practices and tools for project execution and management.
Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
Define and manage project scope, milestones, changes in project scope and deliverables of other Actuarial IT projects, as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Education Required
Bachelor’s degree or related work experience
Certification in IT Project Management required or related work experience.
3-5 years direct work experience in a project management capacity including all aspects of process development and execution.
Strong familiarity with project management software, specifically Microsoft Project.
;Familiar with programming languages, including SAS, COBOL, SQL.
Database and operating systems experience with mainframe, PC, and servers.
Highly competent with Microsoft Office suite of applications.
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
Must be able to conform to shifting priorities and demands and be flexible during times of change.
Strong written and oral communication skills (in English and in Spanish) as well as strong interpersonal skills.
Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
Must possess the proven ability to work without close supervision or support.
