About the Job





OVERVIEW:


Plans and designs engineering programs and assembles project staffs.  Responsible for organizing highly complex activities; fully responsible for all aspects development, timing & implementation, budgetary and performance of new and maintenance engineering projects. Emphasis will be on actual product content and maintenance of RECARO specifications project, and strategic goals, including value engineering and continuous improvements. Assignments include product and business unit support and customer contact, as necessary. Highest degree of creativity is expected.


 Responsibilities of the position / job description




  • Quotation support as necessary. Participate to define SOW, engineering deliverables, project timing, project team, and budgetary requirements

  • Complete product responsibility: Engineering specifications, guidelines, customer expectations, customer & industrial requirements, governmental regulations, etc. 

  • Review all structural designs and access calculations or modeling aids were applicable

  • Review all design information and drawings to confirm complete-ness of all necessary information to meet project tasks and deliverables

  • Communications, internal and external (Interface as needed with appropriate customers contacts, i.e. release engineers, purchasing agents, etc.) as necessary and by appropriate means

  • Prepare and outline engineering project plan per the project management guidelines which include: all deliverables, project timing with key project milestones, bill of materials (prototype & production), tooling requirements, engineering expenditures, and fully budgetary status. Obtain all necessary internal and external project specifications. Understand all legal and regulatory requirements

  • Develop project DVP&R, DFMEA, DFM/A, 8-D, APQP, and PPAP documents as required per project requirements

  • Conduct project review meetings with sales and engineering staff

  • Support development, implementation, and maintenance of RECARO TS16949 procedures, forms, and work instructions: seat layout & material code assignment chart, engineering specification, Test Report Number System, Part Numbering System ECR / ECO, BOM maintenance & RULES, Designing checklist (AIAG), & Project Book

  • Understand manufacturing process and provide manufacturing support

  • Participate in cost reduction, VA/VE activities, benchmark and vehicle application and fitment activities

  • Provide customer service support & timely CA/PA responses as necessary

  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements of the Job


·        Requires an advanced technical degree and at least 5-8 years of related experience.


·          Program management skills


·          Good communication and organizational skills


·          Direct customer contact:  formal presentations, written, and good verbal


·          Good leadership abilities


·          Computer knowledge or aptitude (MS Office, Project,, Excel or equivalent), SAP desirable


·          AutoCAD, CATIA, DVP&R, DFMEA, DFM/A, 8-D, APQP, PPAP, Benchmarking, VA/VE, GD&T, and  TS16949 / QS9000 / ISO
