Job Purpose:
Builds electronic systems, components, and parts by completing assembly and testing procedures.
Duties:
* Develops layout of work by collecting engineering documents and drawings; reviewing requirements with engineers.
* Builds products by fabricating parts; assembling circuits and components; analyzing results; recommending changes in circuitry, fabrication, and assembly.
* Tests products by establishing performance and reliability standards; devising and conducting tests; setting up equipment and apparatus; adjusting, calibrating, aligning, and modifying circuitry, components, and parts; analyzing results and recommending changes.
* Constructs product by fabricating parts; assembling circuits, components, and parts; operating bench lathes, drills, and related machine tools.
* Describes system, components, and parts operating characteristics and malfunctions by writing technical reports; preparing charts, graphs, and schematics.
* Verifies system performance by testing functioning of installed equipment.
* Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
* Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
* Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; and verifying receipt of supplies.
* Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.
* Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
* Maintains electronics system, components, and parts data base by entering and backing up data.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
