About the Job

Job Description

This position functions as the lead Reliability Engineer for technical Reliability/Safety issues and, in this capacity, is responsible for providing technical advisement to subordinate department personnel and other functional groups.

This position functions as the lead Reliability Engineer for technical Reliability/Safety issues and, in this capacity, is responsible for providing technical advisement to subordinate department personnel and other functional groups. Working in a corporate environment, the Project Reliability Engineer is also responsible for devising and developing innovative analytical and test solutions involving the application of statistical Reliability methods that will benefit product Reliability/Safety design assurance.
A specific focus for this position will be Flight Control System Safety Certification per ARP-4754 and -4761.

Required skills:

Under the administrative cognizance of the Reliability & ILS Manager, the Project Reliability Engineer will provide technical advisement to subordinate Reliability Engineers and functional groups. A second responsibility is project management related to new technology development. The incumbent requires guidance on general assignment objectives and critical issues, but is otherwise undirected and is expected to independently generate creative solutions and exercise considerable judgment. The incumbent will make independent and un-reviewed decisions on most technical and program matters. The incumbent’s work is periodically reviewed for application of sound professional judgment in meeting overall goals and objectives. This position requires frequent contact with internal and customer Design Engineering personnel and the cultivation of a professional and congenial working relationship with these personnel. The incumbent would also serve as the primary technical focal point for complex and sensitive inter-company teaming arrangements requiring both electrical and systems expertise.

Scope:

BS degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Reliability Engineer with an Electrical Systems focus.

Other Requirements

He/she needs to have an electrical background, NOT mechanical, industrial, etc. The manager also prefers a degree in EE. A BSEE as opposed to a BSEET. Systems experience. Experience leading a team. Needs to have very good knowledge of reliability mathematics, reading schematics, FMEA, PDR/CDR experience, and FMET. Experience w/ circuit simulation. Experience with “rolling-up” analyses through the safety cert process (Rel Pred –to- FMECA –to- FTA). Even though he said it would be ok if the person had automotive or more manufacturing, seems he's leaning toward aerospace / aircraft experience. I think if you find someone really good with that background submit anyway.
