We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Project Safety Supervisor in Saginaw, Michigan.
- Ensure workers have access to and are using proper PPE
- Ensure the job is being performed in a safe and compliant manner
- Ensure the Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) has been completed and communicated to all workers onsite
- Ensure any required permits (Confined Space Entry, Hot Work, Earth Work) are completed. If not, assist the worker to properly complete the required paperwork before allowing the job to continue and before leaving the jobsite.
- Ensure that Operators are following all applicable DOT regulations
- Document findings, log them electronically, and distribute the findings
- Maintain training records
- Investigate incidents and accidents and prepare a written report with conclusions and recommendations
- Work closely and cooperatively with EQIS managers and supervisors to accomplish shared goals.
- Develop expertise on EQIS operations, procedures, and programs. Assist in any way necessary to modify, implement, and provide training on procedures and programs
- Interact frequently with management and hourly associates to identify and solve problems
- Work in a constructive, positive manner with a wide range of personalities and across management and organizational boundaries
- Maintain confined space equipment
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- At least three to five years in a health and safety role. Demonstrated broad knowledge of safety regulations
- Expertise in confined space entry and rescue
- Expertise with air monitors, SCBA's, CSE ropes, harnesses, winches, tripods, etc.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to deal with unstructured problems that require defensible decisions on complex safety and regulatory matters
- Performance of other duties and responsibilities as required by management
