Property Claims Director-Large Loss Claims

Job Purpose/Role
We currently have 2 Property Claims Director - Large loss claims opportunities. The responsibilities will include managing a team of Regional General Adjusters deployed on a nationwide basis and responsible for adjusting the highest value commercial and personal lines property claims, typically over 750K in damages

Key Responsibilities
-Directing all aspects of claims handling including investigation of facts and coverage, documentation, evaluation, litigation management, expense management, recovery recognition and disposition of large loss claims reported
-Providing leadership, direction and management in the claims process
-Mentoring staff in identification of issues, diagnosing cause, and recommending action plans to remedy
-Ensuring the ability of staff to provide clear understanding of coverage issues and make complex coverage decisions
-Providing technical direction and file guidance, and co-adjust strategically significant losses with direct reports as needed
-Analyzing and reporting trends affecting production, staff and expenses; develop and implement corrective actions to overcome unfavorable trends consistent with business strategy
-Working in partnership with Claims Technical to create strategies that address large loss strategic initiatives, workflows and standards; Collaborating with Claims Technical on claims in excess of established authority level of $2M
-Interfacing regularly with Claims/AZFF Sr. Management and Executives, proactively sharing information on strategically significant claims and participating in large loss review as appropriate
-Implementing and execute against the technical/operations standards and strategy of each line of business
-Executing strategic initiatives, workflows and standards
-Providing overall commitment to staff and talent management including workforce planning, goal setting, performance management, development and succession planning
-Guiding individual development to improve bench strength
-Cultivating contacts within the claims field property marketplace to assist AZFF in attracting top talent
-Advancing the technical expertise and reputation of claims handling with the company brand

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience
-Ideal candidate will have 10 years plus experience of claims handling experience with demonstrated roles of increased responsibilities
-Managerial or supervisory experience preferred
-Demonstrates superior claim technical expertise on extremely complex Commercial and Personal lines claims, typically in excess of 750K in damages
-Extensive estimating background desired with wide knowledge of construction costs and repairs
-Strong understanding of the insurance industry and strategic drivers relative to Large Loss claim handling
-Superior coaching skills, including ability to provide technical mentoring, guidance, input and oversight to remote field staff, and ability to motivate staff to meet or exceed service and technical standards
-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
-Superior oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
-Strong client interaction and presentation skills desired
-Ability to travel overnight on little to no notice to assist and /or re-inspect large losses as required
-Demonstrated ability to accomplish strategically significant goals through leadership, influence management and effective negotiation skills
-Able to effectively accomplish objectives in a matrix organization through direct authority as well as through influence and collaboration
-Ability to operate in a highly regulated environment
