Position Summary
Public Strategies, Inc. competes for federal and state contract and grant opportunities. This position will have primary responsibility for the following:
- Identifying and evaluating possible new business opportunities for PSI and affiliated organizations. Sources include, but are not limited to: FedBizOpps, Grants.gov, GSA Ebuy, State procurement websites, and private foundations.
- Administering and monitoring federal grants for compliance with OMB circulars and award documents.
Essential Job Functions
Essential functions related to proposal production include:
- Coordinate proposal production by managing process from inception to delivery
- Create new content
- Identify appropriate format and content of the proposal and customize as necessary to meet specifications and requirements.
- Create and distribute an assignment matrix that identifies appropriate personnel for proposal team.
- Write and distribute a first draft, populating it with baseline text. Proposals must be grammatically correct, concise, well written, properly formatted, and directed at the appropriate audience.
- Perform initial edits of input submitted by other team members
- Ensure full compliance with RFP requirements.
- Communicate project status
- Maintain RFP and proposal archive
- Gather supporting materials from various sources for incorporation into future proposals
- Work collaboratively with graphic designers to enhance proposal text
- Serves as central contact point on assigned proposals, and coordinate multi-discipline or cross-functional team(s).
- Update and manage supporting proposal files, such as resumes, contract descriptions and standard text
- Assist in developing policies, procedures, guidelines and standards for proposal management.
- Contribute to and implement ideas for improving efficiency
- Print and ship finished proposals, in accordance with guidelines and requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple writing assignments and projects with varying or conflicting deadlines
Essential functions related to Grant Administration include:
- Knowledge of OMB Circulars and related administrative guidelines
- Working knowledge of Grants.gov
- Review grant expenses for appropriateness and compliance with applicable standards, regulations and guidelines.
- Prepare and submit fiscal reports and maintain appropriate documentation related to grant transactions.
- Prepare or assist in preparation of required grant and contract reports including, but not limited to, Semi Annual reports and non competing continuation applications
- Review program related reports for administrative accuracy and compliance with contract terms and conditions
- Analyze financial data
Education/Training
College Degree in Business or related field preferred. Relevant education plus experience will be considered.
Licensure/Certification
Must maintain a valid State of Oklahoma Driver’s License, current vehicle registration and insurance and have ready access to a personal vehicle.
Experience
Minimum 2 years experience in proposal writing/grant administration
Special Requirements
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Requires expert grammar, punctuation and proofreading skills, and adherence to RFP requirements
- Ability to think critically/analytically, and work well under pressure in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to gather and disseminate information quickly to meet tight deadlines
- Advanced to expert knowledge on: MS Word and Excel
- Effective oral and written communication skills
Essential Physical Requirements
Sufficient mobility and strength to move about the facility. Ability to drive and be frequently mobile throughout the community.
