Accountable for the design and execution of timely, professional and effective RFP responses for both new business, as well as group renewal's. The overall role of this position is writing responses to Requests for Proposals, Requests for Information, etc., project managing the entire proposal process including the subsequent response management. This position is an integral part of the Request for Proposal team and all of Guardian's Group product lines will be covered. The individual will be accountable for partnering with group marketing, Sales, the Strategic Business Units (SBU's), Underwriting, and other areas and will drive consistency in proposals and other sales related materials in messaging, materials presentation and branding.
This individual will be required to make an initial assessment of the opportunity, and working with Sales and Operations/Underwriting, develop and execute on a strategy for response. This will include identification of resources required to complete the Request for Proposal project. Accountable for all aspects of driving the opportunity through the organization, making assignments and disseminate them to various individuals and departments as needed. Track completion of these detail and deadline oriented assignments and be responsible for incorporating them into the final document Overall accountability for the creation of, editing, review, correct grammar and responsiveness to questions and requirements included within the proposal or sales document requests . Interface with subject matter experts across many areas and at all levels.
Accountable for project managing the proposal process and workload. This includes making initial assessment of opportunity, develop and execute on strategy for response. Identify additional resources required, make assignments and track. Accountable for compiling, either through the content management databases or with subject matter input, the written responses to RFPs and presentations. This includes partnering with the Knowledgebase administrator in the writing and editing of questions and answers and for the assembly of the drafts and final responses. Coordinates with production coordinator for final print and distribution deliverables and required exhibits and attachments
Accountable for having a working knowledge of the Group Profit Center products and services. Responsible for keeping abreast of all new and/or enhancements to product and service offerings through ongoing initiatives and training
Responsible for partnering with group marketing, the market development organization, monitoring industry trade sources, the SBU's, Sales, etc. to understand how Group's products and services fit into the competitive landscape and then articulate it through RFP's and presentations.
Partner with Group Marketing, proposal writers, SBU's and others to design and develop finalist presentations highlighting Guardian's products and services. The individual will also be asked to contribute/assist in the compilation and writing of other business documents as needed for the organization
Develop process of controls and workflow to contribute to, and coordinate with proposal writer/knowledgebase administrator to update the content library as new knowledge items are added from proposal completions as well as in response to new product launches/upgrades.
Participate in cross functional training. Train and mentor less senior and/or new specialists.
BA or BS in Business communications, or equivalent combination of education and experiences.
Experience in interacting with sales organization's and understanding sales cycles and methods
Experience in preparing RFP responses and/or project execution experience
Experience with RFP machine and RFP Express software a plus.
Frequent travel to Bethlehem, Pa. (1X Per month)
- May be required to work evenings and weekends to meet proposal deadlines.
- Occasional travel may be required.
