Public Relations Manager

About the Job

Premier Exhibitions, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRXI), a major provider of museum quality touring exhibitions throughout the world, including "Titanic:  The Artifact Exhibition" and “BODIES…The Exhibition”, is seeking a Public Relations Manager with 5-7 years experience, preferably in the “edutainment” sector.  The Manager is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive PR campaigns surrounding the company’s exhibitions- leading to balanced, “out of the box”, newsworthy stories.   In this role, you will have the opportunity to be part of a pre-launch, execution, and overall implementation of creative campaigns that deepen your influence and relationships with consumer press.  Must be willing to work long hours and travel – often weeks at a time. This position reports to the Director of Public Relations

 

 

 

I. Responsibilities

 

 

• Serve as day-to-day contact with influential’s on the company’s behalf. Research, understand and anticipate consumer and social media influential’s’ interests and needs ultimately building relationships.

• Be strong strategic planner, project manager and team leader. Self-motivated and passionate about PR and the company’s properties. Energetic and engaged.

• Provide creative ideas for a sustained exhibition campaign and driving engagement coverage with traditional and non-traditional press contacts.

• Reactively answer influential’s’ questions, coordinate requests, and offer smart strategic counsel and action that ensures desired results and competitive positioning.

• Proactively propose campaign and new strategy ideas as well as creative top story ideas (timing and content), schedule meetings, educate and shape opinions on ticket buying trends and marketplace themes. Solicit feedback from influential’s regarding their perception of competition and industry position.

• Facilitate press meetings, lead press/analyst tours and/or events. Keep the flow of the company presentation and interview on track. Give spokespeople useful briefing prior to as well as constructive performance feedback after the interview.

 

• Lead spokespeople in all markets where exhibition is appearing and serve as company spokesperson when necessary.

 

• Maintain tight last minute deadlines, including the development of standard press materials, PR plans, stakeholder mapping and other company documents

Required Qualifications

·         5-7 years of public relations experience in the events, entertainment and/or arts fields.  Agency experience preferred.

·         Minimum Education:  Bachelors Degree in Communications, Journalism or related field

·         Willingness to work long hours, including weekends and nights at times 

·         Willingness to travel for up to a week at a time

·         Strong verbal and written communications skills

·         Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects

·         Calm demeanor

·         The ability to develop and maintain a rapport with partners

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

·         Experience working on traveling events that stay in a market for a long period of time (3 months or more)

·         Experience working from a remote location, unsupervised at times

·         Crisis communication experience and serving as a spokesperson during communication opportunities
