Public Relations Specialist
Tiny Prints (www.tinyprints.com) is an online retailer of
personalized stationery and related products currently servicing the baby,
bridal, holiday and small business markets via two national
brands/websites. We are a fast-paced and
growing, profitable start-up backed by Summit Partners and Technology Crossover
Ventures and has received press coverage in numerous publications including The
Today Show, The Wall Street Journal, Money Magazine, InStyle, Town &
Country, People, Daily Candy and Martha Stewart Weddings.
The Public Relations Specialist will be responsible for
assisting the Public Relations Manager in the day-to-day PR aspects for Tiny
Prints and two of its stationery brands, Tiny Prints and Wedding Paper
Divas. The public relations specialist
will work in tandem with the Public Relations Manager to help conceive and
execute internal and external public relations strategies that will build the
company’s image and brand awareness among internal and external audiences. The ideal candidate is an experienced public
relations professional with in-house and/or agency experience on
product/consumer lifestyle brands with a proven track record in national media
pitching and social media.
Primary Responsibilities
·
Work closely with Public Relations Manager to
provide creative input and support for planning and implementation of public
relations strategies and tactics supporting key initiatives and campaigns
·
Manage day-to-day media relations activity,
including responding to media requests, arranging interviews, reviewing
editorial calendars and leads and pro-actively placing news stories
·
Provide media relations outreach efforts,
independently or coordinated with agency involved, to support key corporate and
brand initiatives and oversee the implementation of seasonal press outreach efforts
for Tiny Prints and Wedding Paper Divas
·
Prepare and distribute press releases and other
corporate communication materials for key consumer/brand programs, including,
but not limited to, seasonal initiatives, new brand launches, special and
celebrity events, internal communications, etc.

Work closely with Integrated Brand Marketing
team to identify key messages and audiences for new launches/product
initiatives
·
Work closely with cross-functional teams to
identify trends and relevant issues to assist in the development of relevant
and newsworthy stories
·
Develop custom media distribution lists and
manage distribution efforts for assigned projects in tandem with PR
Associate/Coordinator or agency
·
Maintain an extensive personal network of editors
and influencers
·
Research corporate/marketing award opportunities
and develop compelling submissions
·
Assist PR Associate with on-site public
relations support at consumer/brand press & influencer events
·
Work with PR Coordinator to maintain an active
and up-to-date media relations database
·
Manage key media placements and disseminate all
key communication to cross-functional partners
·
Oversee press pages on brand websites
·
Work closely with PR Manager to develop and
manage tracking methods and metrics to report public relations results on key
campaigns and initiatives

Job Qualifications/Requirements
·
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in corporate
public relations and/or public relations agency with an emphasis on
product/consumer lifestyle brands
•
Strong background in media relations, social
media and blogger relations
•
Established rolodex of print, broadcast and
online media contacts
•
Ability to pitch story ideas to the media with
track record of success (examples required)
•
Highly organized and detail oriented
•
Time management skills with ability to
prioritize and multitask
•
Strong oral and written communication
skills
•
Fully proficient with the Office suite of
programs
•
Expertise in the following is a plus:
- Knowledge of search engine
optimization related to online media relations, web site newsrooms, media
distribution and wire services
- Proficiency with design layout
software, including Photoshop/Adobe Illustrator
- Bachelors degree in journalism,
communications, or public relations
