Public Relations Specialist

Overview

The Public Relations Specialist will play an important role in raising awareness of our brand through multiple methods, including social media. They will actively work with both the Marketing Director and other departments to develop PR campaigns and content, both industry-specific and general.  They will be highly involved in planning product or feature launches.

They will be expected to become an industry authority with an understanding of not only our software, but of appointment scheduling and SaaS (Software as a Service) concepts.  Through their top-notch writing skills and media contacts, they will help our company become the undeniable leader in the online appointment scheduling software space.

They must also be a social media expert, not only assisting in developing our social media strategy, but carrying it out.

The Public Relations Specialist will be a self-starter who can learn on their own, excel without a lot of hand-holding, wear a lot of hats, and develop a vision for promoting our company and software.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Write and publish press releases


• Write and publish articles and case studies


• Write white papers


• Lead in developing promotional videos


• Coordinate photography and video at events


• Regularly blog for the company and product


• Follow other industry blogs and regularly post responses


• Develop and carry out social media strategy using Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social media to promote products and the company


• Work with media to try to get mentions


• Seek out speaking opportunities at conventions and trade shows for company executives


• Assist with developing trade show strategy


• Work directly with sales and marketing personnel on PR campaigns


• Develop PR ideas for company


• Seek out local and national corporate award opportunities


• Track and report on effectiveness of PR campaigns


• Assist with company branding and brand awareness


• Prepare and maintain press kits, fact sheets, and other promotional materials

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communication, or related field


• Minimum 3 years experience in public relations


• Heavy writing experience


• Excellent writing and speaking skills


• Experience with writing press releases


• Experience with social media and blogging


• Experience with developing media contacts

Compensation

This is an on-site full-time salaried position. The salary range is $50,000 - $60,000.
