The Health & Public Service operating group serves health organizations, government agencies, institutions and nonprofit organizations worldwide providing a broad range of consulting, technology, system integration and business processing services.

                                                                                                                 

Service Delivery professionals are responsible for providing service delivery across the breadth of offerings such as accounting, information technology, application development and maintenance, helpdesk services, procurement, learning and training, and human resources. The work that is performed by our delivery professionals may serve one or more clients concurrently and they may be located directly at a client site or within our global delivery network.

 

The Oracle Database Administrator provides highly technical expertise in the support of Oracle Production DBMS.  He/she also performs routine DBA support activities.

 

Responsibilities (not limited to):

 

  • Manage multiple Oracle databases with different Oracle Database Enterprise versions (9i, 10g, RAC and non-RAC) on AIX UNIX in production, training, development, and test environments for the client.
  • Perform support of Production Oracle database instances 24x7 as member of a DBA team
  • Perform routine DBA support activities.  (Database installation and maintenance)
  • Assist in defining file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications
  • Provide assistance in designing the logical data model and physical data model.
  • Coordinate backups and execute performance tuning activities of installed Production Database.
  • Contribute to the application and technical architecture analysis, design, and implementation, and ensure that the product fulfills the requirements.
  • Assist with the planning, reporting, implementation, and support of a large data consolidation and the database architecture for the project.
  • Responsible for performing Oracle database tasks including installation, configuration, backup, recovery, and tuning.
  • Responsible for installing and configuring Oracle 10g CRS Foglight/Spotlight and OEM Grid Control.
  • Responsible for monitoring AQ and Oracle Message Gateway.
  • Review and implement application releases into Production, Training, and Pre-production environments.
  • Provide 24x7x365 Oracle database support on a rotating pager and database support to the development, middle-tier, and test teams upon request.

 

Qualifications

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • 5 years overall work experience in a database administration role
  • 5 years of experience managing multiple databases including RAC with different Oracle versions on AIX operating system
  • 2 years of experience working in a UNIX development environment

 

Preferred skills:

 

  • Knowledge of AQ or Streams
  • Management of large Oracle databases (VLDB) in an Enterprise Production environment
  • Installation, configuring, and using Foglight/Spotlight and OEM Grid Control
  • Experience within Public Service
  • Previous experience with Oracle 1 1g a plus
